This policy explains what Horse Hub collects when you use https://thehorsehub.ca (the "site"), what we do with it, and the choices you have. Horse Hub is a sole proprietorship formed in British Columbia, Canada ("we", "us", "our").
By using the site, you agree to this policy. If you disagree with any part of it, please do not use the site.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Your name and email address when you create an account
- Business details you add to a listing, such as business name, description, services, photos, website, social links, phone number and street address (phone and street address are optional)
- Messages you send us
Information collected as you use the site
- IP address, device and browser information
- Pages you view and how you interact with the site
Payment information
- We never collect or store your card number, expiry date or security code. Payments for Featured listings are handled entirely by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your payment details under its own privacy policy.
How we use it
- To run your account and show your listing
- To process payments and send you receipts or account messages
- To reply when you contact us
- To review listings and keep the directory accurate
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your contact information with anyone for their own use.
The contact details you choose to display on a listing, such as a public email, phone number or website, are visible to anyone who views that listing. You control what you show.
We use a few service providers to run the site. They only handle data to do the job we hire them for:
- Stripe processes payments
- Base44 hosts the site and our data in the United States
- Google Analytics measures how the site is used
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website stores on your device. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement, which use cookies to see how the site is used and how our ads perform. They stay off unless you accept: when you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline, and no Google analytics or ads script loads until you say yes. You can change your choice any time with the cookie button at the bottom left of the page.

Your choices
- You can edit or delete your listing from your account at any time.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing team@thehorsehub.ca.
- You can withdraw your consent to how we handle your information by contacting us. Some features may stop working if you do.
- We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and will reply within 30 days.
Residents of Quebec also have the right to access and correct their information, withdraw consent, and complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca, 1-888-528-7741).
Children
The site is for a general audience and is not meant for anyone under 18. If we learn that a child under 18 has sent us personal information, we will use it only to tell them they cannot use the site, and then delete it.
Other websites
The site links to websites run by other people. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. A link does not mean we vouch for or endorse them.
